Description

The Azienda Agricola Cà Montanari covers 45 hectares on the territory of Levizzano Castelvetro. It was founded in 2002 (from which the name Opera 02), with only 5 hectares of land cultivated with vines.

The company developed rapidly, extending on the entire Hill, and acquired a ’50 stable, which was transformed into a farmhouse.

The passion of the Montanari family for farming and the countryside has distant origins.  The grandfather Renzo and grandmother Irma transmitted to their children and grandchildren the values and the spirit of traditions of the territory and their products.  In 2004, the first vines of Grasparossa were planted, one of the oldest varieties in the world. The 'Grasparossa' name comes from its peculiarities, or red shades that appear on the leaf in the fall. Between 2004 and 2008, even more Grasparossa vies were planted on the hill, over 1 acre of Trebbiano of Modena, whose grapes are needed for the production of ABTM, 3 hectares of Malbo Gentile, always from the Lambrusco family of wines but with flavors of San Giovese, and 2 hectares of Salamino.
