Description

Our business has it origins many years back in time, deriving from the winemaking traditions typical of this corner of Piemonte and from the passion of the local people, that have always been committed to their labour of love - winemaking.

Situated on the borders between the Langhe and Monferrato areas of Piemonte, our Vineyard covers approx. 10 hectares of the hillsides in Santa Libera, Canelli and Moasca in the Asti countryside.

These sweet and renowned Sori hills have a very special soil and perfect sunlight exposure – a condition of great benefit in the ripening process of the organically grown fruits of the vines.

The vineyards closest to Canelli are the most suited to the cultivation of white grapes including the famous white moscato vines, while the land in the direction of Moasca, known for its Nizza Barbera, guarantee the ideal habitat for black grape vines. All the vines are cultivated organically and using the “Guyot” technique.

Our family vineyard business has been in existence for almost two hundred years – a traditional farming family working its land, caring for its fruits – working in harmony with the soil and the seasons. Our passion for our vines has been passed down to us from our Grandparents, Aurelio and Liggia Bocchino - they instilled in us their work ethic and taught us that ...

Our family vineyard business has been in existence for almost two hundred years – a traditional farming family working its land, caring for its fruits – working in harmony with the soil and the seasons. Our passion for our vines has been passed down to us from our Grandparents, Aurelio and Liggia Bocchino - they instilled in us their work ethic and taught us that our work is, indeed, a privileged one.

Today the business is run by Beppe, their son, along with his wife Maria. Their daughter Annalisa, an Economics graduate from Turin University, runs the business development side of the vineyard and Daniele, an eno-technologist, works alongside his father.

Grandfather Aurelio always used to say “bad grapes are only able to produce bad wine, good grapes instead can be used to produce either good or bad wine” and so for this reason we take obsessive care of our vines and their grapes. But then it takes the skill and passion of the vintner to produce our quality wines that reflect and exalt the quality of the grapes themselves. Soft presses are used to obtain the best quality “mosto” , “autoclaves” are used for the production of Moscato and sweet wines, stainless steel vats maintained at precisely controlled temperatures during fermentation and storage, and precious casks made in French oak for the ageing of the rich red wines are all fundamental instruments in the production of all our quality product.

Just like the world around us, vines need the time they need to grow and mature naturally and we do not dare force or hurry their natural development – our cellar and wine production processes are not industrialized and good wine production is not compatible with haste.
