Description

The Crotti Family has been producing Lambrusco wine for at least three generations. Dedicated to organic production, grandchildren Marco, Paolo and Federica are continuing the tradition with the use of modern technologies. The vineyards they cultivate are comprised of native varieties of the Lambrusco grape: Marani, Maestri, Oliva, Salamino, Malbo Gentile.

The Giardino Estate sits on the bed of the ancient Zimella River near the Via Emilia, one of the first roads built by the Romans in 189 BCE. The estate is situated on a plateau near the hills of Reggio Emilia, overlooking the Apennine Mountains, in the centre of the Lambrusco area, which includes the provinces of Modena, Reggio Emilia and Parma.

The alluvial origin of the loam clay soil makes it very generous and loose. The name of the wines, Suoli Cataldi, is derived from the geological classification of the soil on which the vines grow.

The climate is characterized by temperatures between +30/35 °C in summer and 0/-10 °C in winter. The spring and autumn climate is typically temperate and pleasant.

The wines are produced using the Charmat Method and the classic method. All the vineyards are certified organic (ICEA).
